The video is always the same one: somebody gets into the cold water, holds their breath, counts to thirty and comes out laughing. The tub is in every single shot and nobody knows the brand on it. For anyone reselling, that is the best news a new category can bring.
What the ice bath and the portable sauna are
They are two products that sell together because the ritual is a single one: cold and heat in sequence. The ice bath runs from the folding version, which is a tarpaulin tub with a tubular frame and thermal insulation, to the rigid one with an attached chiller, which holds the water at the chosen temperature and does away with buying ice. The portable sauna follows the same ladder: a folding infrared cabin, which plugs into an ordinary socket and fits inside a flat, or a steam barrel with its own generator, for outdoors.
For the resale, what matters is the distance between the two ends of that ladder. The folding version is an impulse product, it turns over on marketplaces and holds the entry price. The version with a chiller is a high ticket, a considered decision, and it is the one the training studio installs and shows off at reception.
Models and variations
It is not a single item. At the fairs it is a ladder of formats, and it runs from folding tarpaulin to a wooden barrel.

Choosing which rung of that ladder to enter on, and finding the factory that makes both ends with the same quality of stitching, is where BCVN comes in.
Why this is an opportunity for Brazil
Recovery arrived in Brazil pulled along by content rather than by paid advertising, and that creates the most comfortable condition a new category can offer to anyone reselling: the customer already knows what the product is and has not yet fixed a reference price for it.
- The margin lives in the perception, not in the cost: the folding tub is tarpaulin, tubing and a zip, and it arrives cheap from source. What holds the price up here is the ritual it promises, not the bill of materials.
- Two price brackets in the same range: the folding one comes in on impulse and the set with a chiller closes a high ticket, with a single catalogue and a single supplier.
- Timing: with a lead time of 60 to 120 days, an order closed now arrives for the summer (December to March), which is the peak. Anyone who waits for September sells in the autumn.
- The buyer produces the advert: this is one of the rare categories in which the customer films the product and posts it of their own accord, which feeds the resale with no media spend.
Before importing: the requirement for INMETRO certification lives in the electrical part, and that part is precisely the heart of the high ticket: the chiller of the tub, the heater of the infrared cabin and the steam generator. A tarpaulin tub on its own does not fall under compulsory certification, but the set sold with a chiller does fall under it through that component. Check the list of products that require INMETRO before closing the order, and use the pre-shipment inspection with one specific target on this product: the watertightness of the seams and of the drain, because a leak born in transit only shows up in the customer's home.
Put your own brand on it
In a category where the customer buys the ritual, the brand is half the product. Importing generic leaves that value on the table, and the factory settles it within the same order.
- Your brand on the product and on the packaging (private label / OEM): logo printed on the tarpaulin, engraved on the lid of the chiller or applied to the wood of the barrel.
- Colour, finish and shape of the tub as you choose, including the colour of the frame and the type of closure.
- Packaging and manual in Portuguese, with the table of temperature and time of use, ready for Brazilian retail.
Customisation usually calls for a slightly larger minimum order, and BCVN finds the right factory, negotiates the customisation, validates the sample and makes sure the product arrives exactly as you asked for it.
It is worth understanding how this works in practice before requesting the first sample: the guide on own brand in China: private label, OEM and ODM explains the difference between the three models and what each one changes in the minimum order and the lead time.
Where to buy an ice bath and a portable sauna in China
The tub and the chiller do not live in the same hall, and whoever buys in only one of them comes back with half a range.
- Canton Fair, Phase 3 (sport, leisure and health): this is the aisle of the tubs, the folding cabins and the barrels, with the recovery ranges side by side.
- Canton Fair, Phase 1 (electronics and machinery): this is where the chiller and the steam generator get compared, the part of the range that decides the certification and the final price.
- Yiwu Trade Fair: the fast-moving surroundings (thermometer, thermal cover, hand pump, towel), which complete the kit and improve the margin on the set.
Next edition, Canton Fair 2026: Phase 1 runs from 15 to 19 October and Phase 3 from 31 October to 4 November, in Guangzhou. Yiwu opens from 21 to 24 October, between the two phases, which makes it possible to close product and accessory on the same trip.

A new category carries an advantage that does not come back: nobody has settled yet what the fair price is. Whoever gets there first with a brand and a finished set is the one who settles it.
Frequently asked questions about importing an ice bath
Does an ice bath imported from China need INMETRO certification?
The tub on its own has no electrical part and does not fall under compulsory certification, but the set sold with a chiller does fall under it through that component: the chiller is an electrical appliance plugged into the mains and in contact with water. The same applies to the heater of the infrared sauna and to the steam generator. The right thing is to confirm the classification through the NCM code of each item in the set before closing the order.
What is the difference between a folding ice bath and one with a chiller?
The folding one is a tarpaulin tub with a tubular frame and insulation, and it depends on ice bought for every session. The version with a chiller has a cooling unit that holds the water at the chosen temperature and filters it, which does away with the ice and turns the product into a fixed installation. They are two very distant price brackets within the same range, and the same factory usually offers both.
Are a portable infrared sauna and a steam sauna the same thing?
No. The infrared one heats the body through emitters, works at a lower temperature and runs off an ordinary socket, which makes it viable inside a flat. The steam one needs a generator with water and a room that tolerates humidity, almost always outdoors. The consumption, the installation and the tax classification all change, so they are not to be bought as if they were variants of the same product.
